Chattoga County Dixie Mafia:Chapter 4 - Luke Puckett, “Assisted Suicide”
Part III - So Many Questions, and Still No Answers
Years before Luke and Eva Puckett moved to Chattooga County, Luke Puckett had a gun accident. According to Eva, he was rummaging through a bag where they kept a gun, and the gun went off, blowing through the palm of Luke Puckett’s right hand, damaging bone, cartilage and tissue, and severing nerves.
It was with this hand that, which was so severely damaged years before, that 67 year old Luke Puckett was to have lifted a Browning semi-automatic pistol, to the right side of his head, and squeezed a trigger he could only, in normal target practice, squeeze with two hands.
But no where on the GBI Medical examination was there a description of the wound to Luke Puckett’s right hand, nor of the extensive nerve damage, nor of the arthritis he suffered with, which made mobility in his shoulders and hands difficult.
What happened to that Browning semi-automatic pistol? Although Luke Puckett died on July 10, 1998, the pistol was not returned until May 2, 2003, despite numerous attempts to get it back, including requests from Eva Puckett, and from her friends as well. In a letter dated October 29, 2002, a friend requested intervention by then Congressman Bob Barr to help get the gun returned. It still took the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department another six months to get it to Eva Puckett, two months shy of the fifth year anniversary of Luke Puckett’s death. Confidential sources within the Sheriff’s department disclosed that gun had been given to a deputy, for his personal use, and the gun had to be located before it could be returned.
It is just one of many sterling moments of the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department under Sheriff Ralph Kellett, who was never even in law enforcement, prior to “running” for Sheriff. Before that, he worked in the parts department of a local car lot.
Below Sheriff’s Ralph Kellett’s signature on the Property Release receipt, the words “Serve and Protect” are emblazoned in bold type face.
I spoke with Eva Puckett on Wednesday afternoon, as she slowly, guardedly, then angrily described elements of the case she has tried to let be for almost a decade. She talks about the gunshot wound to Luke’s hand from years earlier, which would have prevented his pulling a trigger with his right hand. She talks about how the trail of blood led from the path he walked, to the pine thicket were his body was found - remember the scratch’s to his lower leg noted in the medical examiner’s report?
Regarding Sheriff Kellett explanation that the long blood trail was due to blood leakage from the body bag, so many of my readers in law enforcement have e-mailed me to tell me this excuse was bogus. One of my posters wrote:
“Body bags are designed to prevent leakage of body fluids. They are heat sealed and will not deteriorate under normal circumstances. Therefore I find it very hard to believe that any blood could have leaked out of the bag. I am curious to see what was determined to be the time of death and to know the actual time the body was discovered. That would also go along way in knowing if the blood trail was due to the body being moved”.
As we already know, and as in the Branch Connelly “suicide”, there was never a Time of Death established.
Ms. Puckett also talked about how no shell casings were found from the Browning, and how the day after the funeral, her family went out to the site, and raked and searched, but still found no casings. However, three weeks later, after Eva Puckett called and called Sheriff Ralph Kellett, he came out and just happened to find the slug which had penetrated, traversed and exited Luke Puckett’s head. They could not find a spent shell casing to positively identify the round fired in the wee small hours of July 10, but three weeks afterwards, they found the slug?
And of course the shoe. One shoe accompanied Luke to the Medical Examiner’s office, and the missing shoe was never found. But don’t forget the flashlight, located on the trail, about 100 yards from where the body was discovered.
Eva Puckett also recounted her memory after Luke’s death, when the suit had been brought against her, how Robin Diamond of First American Title Insurance Company instructed her to pick up a check at Bill Byington’s office in Rome, Georgia. A Special Master had been appointed to oversee the boundary dispute. Superior Court Judge Kristina Cook Connelly appointed Albert Palmour as Special Master. And without her knowledge, Bill Byington was appointed to represent Eva’s interests, and when all was said and done, a check for just over $7,000 was cut for Luke Puckett’s widow.
Until Wednesday afternoon of this past week, Eva Puckett did not know that the attorney appointed to represent her interest in the law suit, Bill Byington, was the brother-in-law of the attorney who, in part, had brought Luke and Eva Puckett so much misery - Arch Farrar.
Even now, some nine and a half years later, she is indignant at how rudely Bill Byington treated her. She contacted him to ask about getting the check, and he told her he did not have a check for her. She contacted Robin Diamond of First American Title Insurance to see if she had misunderstood about picking up a check. But Diamond assured her that the check had been sent AND that it had been received by Mr. Byington’s law firm.
Eva Puckett called to set an appointment, and again, Bill Byington told her he did not have a check for her. She was confused and angry, and drove herself down to Rome, Georgia, and went in to see Mr. Byington. She told me on Wednesday, that Bill Byington came out and told her that she could not be seen, because she did not have an appointment. Eva Puckett looked at me on Wednesday afternoon, and she asked me if I could believe someone would treat her this way after she had just lost her husband.
I could not.
But what I found hardest to believe was that no one, including Bill Byington himself, ever disclosed to Eva Puckett, the relationship between he and Arch Farrar.
The decision by the Special Master, and the Plaintiffs and Bill Byington, was that there was a total of seven plus acres in dispute, and an order to “Quiet the Deed” was entered. First American Title Insurance paid Eva Puckett a little over $7,000.00, and then Eva sold the remaining property and home.
Part of the remaining 142 some odd acres were purchased by Ralph Wright and Fondren Wright. A little over ten acres, which included the home site, was purchased by a GBI Crime Lab Medical Examiner, who was later dismissed for lack of certification. Tom Scott, a former Fulton County Tax Commissioner also purchased some of the land on the mountain, and Elton Wright and Phillip Wright each purchased small acreage.

Part II - Incompetent Attorneys and Surveyors Can Be Hazardous to Your Health
When Luke Puckett retired, he had a dream to build a home in the mountains. He and his wife Eva began looking through real estate magazines, and taking long weekend reconnaissance trips through the mountains of North Georgia. They met with various real estate agents in the different towns, and through a friend they had met in a conservative political organization, ended up visiting Chattooga County - specifically, Menlo, Georgia.
They fell in love with Little River Canyon, and as they spoke to agents in the area, they happened on Herb Cole of Gay Cole Realty. Cole showed the Puckett’s a piece of property on the side of the mountain in Menlo, some 150 acres, which was, at the time, tied up in the Bearden Estate, zigzagging a boundary with the Van Pelt Estate. The Bearden estate had many different heirs, but Cole assured them that the heirs were, for the most part, very supportive of the sale of the property. Cole explained that the property would have to be surveyed and Carl Morrison, of Morrison & Morrison Surveyors, was chosen for the job. Bright orange boundary lines were spray painted up the mountain side, so that everyone would know what was what.
Contracts were drawn up, and Arch Farrar, of Farrar and Farrar, P.C. was the attorney which prepared the closing documents, and certified the Title Insurance Policy. Luke and Eva Puckett closed on their property on November 14, 1997, and the deed was filed in the Chattooga County Courthouse on November 17, 1997. Soon they settled in to their camper, their temporary home placed on a lower portion of the 150 acres, while they built their log cabin up on the side of the mountain. Glass would comprise the end of the cabin where the living room would look out over a large deck, and ultimately over the valley.
But the Puckett’s began getting regular visitors from the surrounding neighbors, heirs of the Van Pelt Estate which bordered their property. They claimed that the Puckett’s had placed their camper on Van Pelt Estate property, and one insisted that it was sitting directly on her childhood home site.
Luke and Eva Puckett produced copies of the deed and survey, but to no avail. The tone became increasingly angry and abusive through the months. One man in particular, William T. Croy, a correctional officer married to one of the heirs, who bragged often that he was a trained sniper for the Green Beret, was particularly abusive and threatening.
As we noted earlier in Part I of this chapter, Luke contacted Herb Cole, their realtor and neighbor, as well as Carl Morrison the surveyor and Arch Farrar their closing attorney. At first, all three assured the Puckett’s that there was not a problem, but soon, they stopped returning the Puckett’s phone calls.
Luke tried talking to Sheriff Ralph Kellett about the threats, but after several attempts, Sheriff Kellett told Luke over the telephone that it was time for the Puckett’s to leave the property. (What? Court recorded deeds and legal surveys do not mean anything in the United States anymore?) Later, one evening, Herb Cole the realtor who had put this deal together, showed up at the Puckett homestead and told Luke that Sheriff Ralph Kellett had sent him to Puckett to get off the property.
Puckett refused to leave, but offered that since their dream home was almost completed up near the top of the property, that when they moved, they would just allow the Van Pelt heirs to repossess the “home site” section of their 150 acres where the camper was set temporarily.
This did not please the Van Pelt heirs, so, as the situation had gotten so dangerous, the Puckett’s offered to allow Gay Cole Realty to buy back the entire 150 acres, plus the price of the almost complete home, but the Cole’s did not want that expense, and did not want to lose the handsome commission they had made on the sale of the property to begin with.
So, Luke Puckett and his wife stayed.
In the meantime, they spoke to an attorney OTHER than Arch Farrar, the closing attorney, and learned that while ultimately the Title Insurance could handle this problem, someone had to sue the Puckett’s, first.
So, Luke Puckett talked to the Van Pelt Estate heirs, and told them that if they would file a suit, that the title insurance would resolve everything - if there was a problem with the survey, then the title insurance would make good the loss to the Puckett’s for any property found to belong to the Van Pelt Estate, which the Puckett’s had purchased in good faith.
THE BIG PROBLEM, however, was that the suit which needed to be filed would have to name the closing attorney, Arch Farrar, the surveyor, Carl Morrison, and possibly the real estate company - all as defendants. And if it were determined that the survey and deed were defective, then that would be a significant blow to Arch Farrar’s and Carl Morrison’s reputations. There is a word for that sort of gross error - Malpractice.
When is was becoming clear that litigation was imminent, Luke Puckett took his regular evening walk after the July 9, 1998 Atlanta Braves game, and never returned.
After Luke’s death, litigation indeed came in to play, and the Title Insurance indeed paid Luke Puckett’s widow for the property. Because, as you see, the survey and title search were indeed defective. Imagine if you will that you have a transparency with the incorrect boundary lines drawn on it, and you lay this defective, transparent survey on top of the correct survey. You would have to slide the real survey about 300 feet to the to the left, to come close, and even then, the boundaries are not right. At one point on the correct survey, there is a large section of Van Pelt property which juts in to the old Bearden property, (now belonging to the Puckett’s), which forms an almost perfect equilateral triangle, each side being about 900 feet in length. On the defective survey, that triangle is far to the left, and it is an almost perfect right triangle, with the base approximately 600 feet, and the hypotenuse about 1,150 feet long.
I know nothing about land surveying and I could see there was a problem. That is how huge and glaring this mistake was.
The description used in the overlapping survey by the Title Insurance Company are:
1. Area “One” overlapping Area 519,230.26 sq ft - 11.92 acres.
2. Area “Two” overlapping Area 108, 695.63 sq. ft. - 2.5 acres
3. Area “Three” Non-Overlapping Area310,799.71 sq. ft. - 7.13 acres.
Lucky for Arch Farrar, though. He was able to get his brother-in-law, Bill Byington, a Rome attorney, to represent the interest of Luke Puckett’s widow, and everything was quietly settled with the Title Insurance Company, and the Van Pelt heirs.
Eva Puckett lost her husband of 36 years, and the dream home they built on the side of the mountain in Menlo, Georgia. But after what the people of Chattooga County did to she and her husband, she shook the dust off of her sandals off when she crossed the county line.

Dixie Mafia: Chapter 4 - Luke Puckett, “Assisted Suicide”
Part 1: The Murder
Real Estate Attorneys and Land Surveyors do not like to be told they have made a mistake. They do not like to be proved wrong, especially if it might lead to litigation where terms like “Malpractice”, and “lack of due diligence” are bandied about, and the stakes are huge sums of money. In Chattooga County, Georgia, challenging authority of the local attorneys and good old boys is such a serious matter, that it can get you threats and intimidation, like having lock picks broken off in your door, or semi automatic gun shots fired and left as a warning on your answering machine. If you are another attorney, you might have disbarment proceedings brought against you. Sometimes, if your case is very strong, and the balance of power is threatened, and you do not tow the line and get out of Dodge when you are told to do so, you can end up dead, the victim of what local folks call “Assisted Suicide”.
We began this series on the Dixie Mafia with the story of the “Assisted Suicide” of Branch Connelly, Bobby Lee Cook’s son-in-law, husband to BLC’s daughter, Superior Court Judge Kristina Cook Connelly. Branch Connelly was the perceived weak link in several investigations, including a multi-county child porn ring, and an election fraud scandal, because Branch Connelly, despite his personal flaws, had a conscience. Ultimately, despite the fact that he had married in to the Bobby Lee Cook Dynasty, Branch Connelly was still an “outsider”, and therefore, expendable.
This week, we will tell the story of another “Assisted Suicide”, again of an “outsider’ who threatened to upset the balance of power and privilege. The story of Luke Puckett involves malpractice and gross lack of due diligence on the part of those we trust to ensure our investments in land purchases - attorneys, (Archibald Farrar), and land surveyors, (Carl Morrison). But this story will not be unique as far as the malpractice and cover up in the Chattooga and Walker Counties, when it comes to land purchases. Next week we will delve in to another real estate fiasco, and follow two weeks from now with another tale of Real Estate Justice the good old Dixie Mafia way.
But for now, the Assisted Suicide:
Luke David Puckett was a 67 year old, retired big rig driver from Douglas County, who brought his bride of 34 years to Chattooga County, where they purchased 150 acres on the side of a mountain in Menlo, and began to build their dream home in 1997. But the survey was defective, which began to create serious problems for the Puckett’s and the rightful heirs whose childhood home site was caught up in the defective land survey discrepancy area. But we will get in to those specifics on Wednesday.
For now we consider the few days and hours leading up to Luke Puckett’s death, and those following his death, through the botched investigation.
On the evening of July 10, 1998, Luke David Puckett walked out of the camper he and his wife Eva were living in while they built their home on further on up the property. Luke and Eva had been receiving threats from various folks, but the identities of those threatening had escalated now that it was obvious that there was a defective land survey. At one point, Luke Puckett tried to get in to see Chattooga County Sheriff Ralph Kellett, in order to get advice on how to handle the situation, but Kellett would not see him. When Luke called Kellett, Kellett told Luke that he had better just get off the property, or someone would end up dead.
But Luke Puckett had closing papers, and a land survey and a deed, all describing his ownership pf the disputed area. He had called his Real Estate Agent, Herb Cole, his closing attorney, Arch Farrar, and the land surveyor, Carl Morrison, and was assured by all three that everything was in order. But when the heirs of the disputed property threatened litigation, which Luke was fine with, Herb Cole paid Luke and Eva a visit. Herb Cole told Luke that he had been out to see Sheriff Ralph Kellett, and that Kellett had sent a message to Puckett, to get off the land.
The Sheriff of the county was taking on the position of Judge and Jury on real estate matters meant for court. He tried to scare the Puckett’s in to leaving their 150 acres of heaven on the side of the mountain in Menlo. But Luke Puckett had already consulted with some other folks in real estate, and was assured that unless a suit was filed, nothing could be done to force the Puckett’s to leave, and that once a suit was filed, then the Title Insurance could come in and handle the problem, but that the closing attorney could possibly be disbarred, and could certainly be sued for malpractice.
What no one told Luke Puckett, though, was that Arch Farrar, the attorney, was one of BLC’s men.
On July 10, Luke finished watching his Atlanta Braves on television, and then left the camper with their dog, for their usual evening stroll somewhere around his 150 acre kingdom. He took his gun as he always did, in case he ran up on some critter without honorable intentions, although he and Eva laughed about what use he would be with his arthritis. He could barely pull a trigger using both hands, and holding a flashlight as he always did, and trying to defend himself with a gun in the other would be quite the comical site.
Eva dozed off after he left, and when she awoke, it was late, and Luke was not back yet. She got worried and walked out in the dark calling for her husband. She called her neighbor, their Real Estate agent, Herb Cole, but no one answered the phone. She drove over to the Cole’s house, but no one came to the door. Worried, now, she returned to the camper and called the police. An officer arrived, and tried searching the darkness, but could see nothing, so he called for backup. Later that evening, Eva Puckett overheard the call on the scanner for the coroner. They had found Luke Puckett’s body, with what they were describing as a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head.
We will go in to the details of other elements of the investigation, or as in the Branch Connelly case, the lack of a real investigation, later. But for now, we will concentrate on several elements which jump out at us from the GBI Medical Examiner’s report. Keep in mind that this 67 year old man suffered from severe arthritis, did not have significant range of motion in his shoulders, and had to grasp a handgun trigger with both hands in order to fire it.
1. GBI Case Number P98-01097 - Report Date 9/8/98 - Amended September 4, 1998.
“DECRIPTION OF FATAL GUNSHOT WOUNDS:”
“In the right temple, 2.0 inches anterior to and 2.0 inches above the right external auditory meatus, (69.5 inches above the Plantar surface of the right heel with the body in the erect position and 4.0 inches right of the anterior midline), is an oval 3.0 x 2.0 cm entrance gunshot wound with irregular and ragged margins”.
The External Auditory Meatus, is the hole in the temporal cranial bone which allows sound to pass in to the inner ear. If you put your finger at the bottom back of your ear, and push up, you can feel the EAM. Come forward two inches, (anterior to), and up two inches, and you get an idea about where the gun barrel would have been positioned. Plausible….except that this would have required an awkward position, as Luke Puckett required two hands to pull the trigger of a gun. 2. GBI Case Number P98-01097 - Report Date 9/8/98 - Amended September 4, 1998.
“DECRIPTION OF FATAL GUNSHOT WOUNDS:”
“On the anterior surface of the each lower leg are multiple and superficial abrasions”,
“ A single Surf Moc athletic shoe lying lose within the body bag”.
Luke Puckett was found missing one shoe. The second shoe was never found, even after days of search by the family. Additionally, Luke Puckett’s flashlight was recovered the next day, approximately 100 yards from the location of the body. These abrasions to the front of both legs, coupled with a missing shoe and a flashlight hundreds of feet from his body suggest that Luke Puckett was dragged to the location where his body was found.
3. GBI Case Number P98-01097 - Report Date 9/8/98 - Amended September 4, 1998.
“DECRIPTION OF FATAL GUNSHOT WOUNDS:”
“The body is received inside of two zippered black nylon disaster bags”
The next day, after Luke’s body had been discovered, family and friends of the Puckett’s tried to examine the crime scene. A significant trail of blood was found stretching from where the body was located, and when family members questions Sheriff Kellett, they were told that the blood dripped from the body bag, creating that long trail of blood. Really. Enough blood dripped from two body bags to create a long trail of blood going towards where Luke Puckett’s flash light was found, almost 100 yards away. Someone needs to cancel their contract with the company that manufactures those babies.
4. GBI Case Number P98-01097 - Report Date 9/8/98 - Amended September 4, 1998.
“DECRIPTION OF FATAL GUNSHOT WOUNDS:”
“The fingernails are clipped well below the distal tip of the finger pad”.
I did not notice this the first couple of times I read this report, but after seeing the note that Branch Connelly’s fingernails were cut extremely and unusually short, this jumped out at me. If there is a struggle where the victim may have scratched and clawed, you want to trim the nails and clean under them to remove any possible DNA material which could identify an assailant’s attacker (s).
Since Luke Puckett had not been depressed, was not suicidal, his dream home was almost complete and he was looking forward to a trip to Washington, D.C. the next week with his wife, why was the possibility of murder not considered? Especially given the fact that the Puckett’s had been receiving threats for months. Why did Sheriff Kellett not order an investigation? OH THATS RIGHT, because Sheriff Ralph Kellett was one of the ones threatening Luke Puckett, on behalf of the BLC Cartel, which was scrambling to protect some of its own, namely Arch Farrar and Carl Morrison, from an embarrassing and costly revelation of sloppy work.

Do want to here somthing RGS? I’ve been threatened and warned to stop since I’ve started this campaign. It was advised to me that I need to carry “protection” on my person. But to get a permit to carry, you have to get the application from the Two agencies that are so corrupt, Probate’s office, and the Sheriffs dept. Do you think that I’ll get one? So I have to carry something that doesn’t require a permit. I have been “privy” to read on this subject, and I can’t wait for you (TW) to print some of the names involved with all of this. I bet you some heads are going to roll. Like I said, I know a little bit about this, And I wonder what is going to happen to the people that didn’t do their job, or outright told lies. I suspect that when you name the “person of interest” that actually pulled the trigger, there will be another “assisted suicide”.
I hope not, oh God I hope not, but I can imagine that it would play out that way.

dirtyboy…This is getting spookier by the week, and it doesn’t sound like a gun would do you any good…protect your self with the truth…with information…and hold it close..(insurance as TW called it) Being a resident of this county, I am stunned. I remember this case…not wanting to reveal too much…but how could this happen in America? What are residents of this county to do???Im not a politician, Im not an attorney, just an everyday citizen…that truly hasn’t a clue to the legalalitites it takes to clean up this county..Im mad that a judge and a bunch of crooked attorneys can decided the future of so many…they are intrusted with more than just criminal cases..they are intrusted with our childrens lives also…and I for one do not think they are qualified. Is our justice system for sale to the highes dollar? I am deeply disturbed, without a clue of where to proceed.
This is just another case of how its done in Chattooga. I have lived here 40+ years and have a working history with the local SO. And as far as carl doing a survey, please just throw the old lawn darts and you will get a lot closer to your property lines. Heard of a case from a former co worker who had Carl do a survey for him and he totaly missed the mans property. Thank goodness this man didn’t do anything to the property before he found the truth out. If you get land in chattooga county bring your own suvey crew and a outside lawyer.
overwhelmed, you can bet your bottom dollar that everyone that is involved with “movement”, the people coming forward with the information is carrying a gun. I am 100% disabled, I don’t get out too much, but when I do, I try to protect myself and my wife of 25 years who is also 100% disabled. If you look at all the documented evidence, and who it is tied to, you’ll start to realize what has to happen. Look at the Probate Judge who is in charge of the election process here in the county. He has been there for so long, but someone in his office had to hand out all of the absentee ballots that are in question. I don’t think that his secretary for so many years is going to take the fall. Is the secretary of Albert Palmour’s and Tim Perry’s office going to take the fall for “stamping” the ballots? I don’t think so.By the way, who is their secretary? Isn’t it Tim’s wife? Will Tim actually let his wife take the fall? I think that it was actually you that in a past “Posting” talked about a man who went around collecting those ballots, what about him? If it wasn’t you that posted it I apologize, I’ll look back in a second and see who it was. Now let’s talk about the commissioner, he is suppose to be working for the tax-payers, so why did he take it upon himself to buy Carlton’s office without the “people’s” permission. We could go on and on about the evidence, but until we decide to do something, they’ll keep on doing it. It would be easy for me to say, that on Dec. 3rd, anyone interested in voicing their opinion, meet at the courthouse steps at 12:00p.m. I say that time because that’s when most of them are either walking over to Pop’s or the brass lantern. I would love for them to see everyone standing and plotting our next course of action.
DEAR DB - That sounds like a good day and a good time. 12:00 on December 3…Monday, right? Next Monday, HIGH NOON. I will check it out with some folks, but, I will be there at 12:00 noon on the Courthouse steps, Monday, December 3, to cover the story. in the meantime, someone needs to check the laws, and see if a permit is needed. See if your local ordinances prohibit any gatherings of certain sizes. There is a Constitutional right to lawfully and peaceably assemble, but local venues have the right to control crowds. dirtyboy..that was me that posted about the gentleman going around with the ballots…said BLC paid him..but I doubt he knew he was doing anything illegal, I sure didn’t when we were speaking of it..I knew it didn’t sound right, but like Ive said before Im an average citizen that doen’t know all aspects of the law.
CG..that suprises me about Arch Farrar also, seems like such a straight up guy.
I for one am in awe of the facts…
and am wondering if this is too big, and goes to high up. I mean look at the facts..this county was dirty futher back than we would care to face…but facts are Gary McConnell was probably corrupt, his protege Bill Blackwell and entorage made it all the way up to State level, through Zell Miller…Bill Blackwell(deceased) was out present co. commissioners right hand man, so it makes you have to wonder about him..then he turns around and buys Calton Vines office????
I don’t know, but it seems they are all tied in together somehow.?

Hey Native..that suprises me about you. We have a beautiful county and a good place to raise your kids, away from all the hustle and bustle of big city life and CG has the right to want to live in a “Clean” community. All of this seems so complex and incredibly hard to believe, but if its true I don’t blame her/him for questioning “What they have done” And the comment about people moving here from who knows where???? Come on now..this is America…and that hometown “Good Ole Boy” attitude isn’t working….

I’m surprised about you not being concerned that all of these outsiders are moving into our county. Have you not noticed the huge increase in traffic, property tax, and the strain on our schools?
Native, I think I’ll encourage my family to move here… it’s a rather large family… we can take the whole town of Summerville over, and we’d manage it better. We have some attorneys, a couple of doctors, a few engineers, some fabulous artists, a wonderful baker, a large number of teachers, real estate agents, a pharmacologist, an architect… We’ll start our own newspaper (a few of us have experience in that), draw up some nice developments with parks and a whole lot of deed restrictions that ensure things are kept super pretty. We’ll take down the sh!tholes you call houses that are falling in and sitting there rotting and put in some parks. We’ll even set up recycling plans (since the one here is a joke, we’ve seen the truck pick up the “recycling” at the same time as the rest of the trash… mingled in with allll the rest). We’ll make sure the county stays super nice, encourage new business with new jobs for locals (since ya’ll suck at it, I’ve seen how busy DCFS is on handout day), crack down on illegal activity and in general, make it a really nice place to live instead of one full of dark secrecy, drugs, murder-as-suicides and fear.
How do you like that idea?
Native, how’s it going this a.m.? I think that you and I are on the same wave length. It’s not who is moving here to our county, it’s what is moving into the county. I welcome most “outsiders”, but you and I know that alot of these “outsiders” are bringing things besides children with them. When I lived out of NYC for all those years, I felt for the Law enforcement because there were about 8 different languages. Trying to get information was about useless. As long as these people have something positive to give back to the county, they need to stay where they are at. I know that this is your hometown and I really appreciate your dedication to helping the county stay a safe place to live.
Native, If you think about it the property taxes, strain on our schools, etc has more to do with the politicians we have in office than the new people in the neighborhoods.
They don’t give us a tax hike they just revalue your property every year so that “They say” its worth more. The school problem goes all the way to the govornors office…
And again I have to say..this is America, they have the right to live where they want. Every American has that right, and that attitude went out with the segregation era…..

Ahhh… Native is in law enforcement. Native sees the dark side of the people moving in. That element is happening everywhere, unfortunately. It’s easy here because property taxes, and property, are super cheap here compared to the rest of the country.
BUT… a lot of the “outsiders” as you call us have/had great incomes, have great retirement savings accounts, or are working professionals. We aren’t all bad, and we will stick up for honest law enforcement. Hat’s off.
CG…you have to understand, people are afraid of change…even if it is ultimatley for the best.
And a few new attorneys (honest ones) would be an asset. LOL

“Good Attorney”, now, isn’t that an oxymoron? (LOL). No, I know a few, one in Chattooga and several in Floyd County.
Now, to Native - The “Outsider” elements fascilitated some of the cleanup down here in Floyd County. Before the medical community and institutions of higher learning brought in so many outsiders, the Good Old Boys ran everything, and that is changing…as they say, “There’s a new Sheriff in town”, and that was something that could not have happened when I first moved here in 1992. The outsiders here in Floyd County were mostly Republican, and that changed things drastically, as well. In fact, long time Dem’s who wanted to retain power had to start switching sides, claiming that the Democratic Party wasn’t what it used to be. (Translated - the Democratic Party is no longer the power base it used to be, so we need to diversify).
I think as a general rule, fresh air and fresh blood is good for genetics as well as for communities. Not transient vacation homers, but solid, put the roots down citizens who vote.
NOW, ON TO ANOTHER ISSUE - Do folks up there know that the sitting Grand Jury can bring issues before the Group? They do not have to wait for the DA, (LOL) to take matters in to their own hand, and Issue Indictments. Of course, that would require a convening of the Grand Jury, and I do not think ANYONE in judicial or law enforcement power wants the PEOPLE making decisions right now. Something might get done!

why do you think they revalue our property? Is it because people come here and pay more for our property than we can, thus driving the price up? It appears that this is placing a financial burden on some of our elderly or lower income people.It is also killing our land. In a couple of years there will be no more big tracts of land for ag use or open forest.
What’s wrong with taking down houses that are falling in? What’s wrong with taking pride in your locale and taking care of it? How is wanting deed restrictions that prevent things like people leaving trash in their yards a BLC equivalent? A newspaper that reports news instead of gossip isn’t a bad thing either.

Hello to everyone. First I have a comment to NATIVE. You know who I am and is this the way you feel about me? I’m an implant to the county. Please don’t be offended NATIVE, this doesn’t change who you are and what you stand for in my eyes. I just got a little offended by the “outsiders” moving here comment.
When I first moved here over a decade ago, I used to laugh about how crooked this county is and how the Italian Mafia (which by the way is my relatives. That’s why I moved here, to get away from such corruption.) would love a place like this. Granted, this was before I ever heard of the D.M. I have spent my time in this county trying to make a difference whether it is in my neighborhood or in our schools. I volunteered in my childrens’ classes until they were too old for Mommy to be there. I have helped law enforcement find and arrest drug dealers. But I, like “Grunig”, feel like moving away from this county because of the corruption. I see and hear the fear in everyone. The same question keeps coming up…”What can I do to change this? I’m only one person.” Most people are AFRAID to get involved because of the fact that the BLC Brigade has their hands everywhere. Will these people loose their jobs, have drugs thrown down on the floor and be framed for drug dealing, or maybe “child abuse” charges and they loose their kids if they get involved? I’d be willing to bet money on who already has had their lives threatened if they come forward with the truth about the absentee ballots. How many more “Suicides” have to happen before the people say enough? Who will be next if we all don’t come together and fight back. But I do think that it needs to happen. Even if we the people can’t do anything, it would be nice for everyone interested in changing the county to meet and discuss it in an open forum. I have never claimed to have all the knowledge to “start” a movement, but I do have the ability help one. What we can do is start writing the newspaper(s) and ask why some of these things aren’t being printed. Get in touch with the state’s different sites and talk to the Governor, the election board, your county officials, your legislator. We need to DEMAND that the arrests are made in timely fashion, like right now.
Native— A sad truth is that our lands are going away. Even if a farmer can hold onto their large tracts and farm them, the moment they die the families tend to sell them off. Chattooga county has changed alot over the years but its not all bad. Taxes go up because we as a people require more from our gov.
Sad fact when we got here the woman cooked, cleaned and dealt with every thing and all the men had to do was hunt and fish and fight every now and then. And we came here to improve things…….
Stay with the facts : the county has curruption problems and a few lights are starting to shine, keep that as the focus.
As far as some folks coming in and investing in the community, thats great. But keep in mind the past teachs us that those that come in the name of prosparity often take over those thay came to aid.

TW: Is the investigation on Mr. Puckett’s death a closed case, or has the GBI or FBI got an open case? Is there enough evidence in the documents (case files) for some form of law enforcement, besides our county SO to investigate the facts?
and if the SO investigation was so far from the facts, why has his family not cried out and demanded justice, or is their cries falling on deaf ears .
What family was it that had the controversy over the surveyed land? Was it someone that is rumored to have ties to the DM?
What happened to the land, does it still belong to the Puckett family?
There are a lot of questions, for the how, why, and who’s of this story.
Dear OW - I honestly do not know. I know the feds are aware of it, and for them, murders never go off of their radar, even a decade later. I know the ROme fellows ar epasionate about what they do - passionate enough to dot every single “i’, and cross every single “t”, so that no one can get off on a technicality.
But a whole lot of old stuff is being resurected, in light of a lot of recent, (this whole last year), events. The other stuff will eventually lead to past murders. It is the domino effect. Dominos have alreday begun to fall, and more are tipping.

Martha White. The Sheriff claims that he provides an office for the GBI agent, not that he is assigned to the SO. Could be a matter of hiding in plain sight. any accusations towards the SO can be sloughed off by saying “hell, would we have a GBI agent sitting next to us if we had something to hide?” Strange though considering that the GBI crime lab and state prison is 10 minutes away.
I find it hard to believe that 99% of chattooga citizens are good hardworking people who want change. I had the opportunity to attend a school function in chattooga county recently. It appeared to me that about half the parents already had meth sores on their face, and the other half looked terrified and were holding their children close. a very large number of parents reeked or marijuana and/or alcohol, had the front of their teeth rotting out horribly from the meth and were obviously geeking. I’ve never seen anything like it

I am clueless about that sort of process, but perhaps you can shed some light.

I would like to see a better recycling method than we have, but that is another topic for another day. Back to the subject at hand. Since you are not the “Native” I thought you were, does anyone know the answer to my question…What prevents someone from taking the stickers off of the houses? and for todays topic, How long does a body bleed after death? If the heart isn’t beating, the blood starts to coagulate immediately. So, how could there be blood leaking from 2 body bags around one dead body?

Excellent analogy about slavery. My son often tells me that most of the population would rather be told what to think, what to say, what to wear, and what they like, than to figure it out for themselves. I think that he is right. Even in our churches, it is this way. It is much more comfortable to be told what to believe and how to think, than to drag out the Bible, and use a Greek/Hebrew/Chaldean concordance to figure out what the real text says, and then kneel before GOD and ask him what HE wants. Same in politics….buy in to the old party line, which ever party you grew up with and are comforatble with, and tow that line, reciting the platform dogma, without thinking for yourself. Both parties want it that way…otherwise, we might get a mix of real leaders who would focus on issues instead of power and partisan politics.
It is this revolution against the status quo partyline mind set which attracts me to American Solutions, begun by Newt Gingrich and a mix of Republican AND Democratic leaders, thinkers and “Doers” of both parties.

RGS, I stand corrected, even though I was figuratively speaking. I meant that most of the families in our county are nice, hard working people, that barely make it from pay day to pay day. The BLC Brigade has profitted off of the hard working people, whether they are working for food or unfortunately, drugs, long enough. It needs to stop. Take away the suppliers and the druggies have no where to turn but to sobriety. I know that really sounds very naive of me, but its just the way I would like to see things go. We had our chance for a dream like this to come true when Judge Finster had the “Drug Court” going. It was there to help people get off the drugs. I don’t have all the answers, I only have my imput. No, the same MO was used in 1998, and in 2000, at least in the General Primary. IF a BLC candidate does not win outright, absentee ballots are submitted to stack the deck. If you look at vote tallies for all races, compared to those races where a BLC Candidate ends up winning, you will see that many of the ballots which decide the election in favor of a BLC candidate, are marked only for the particular race in which the BLC candidate has run.
But because NO ONE HAS EVER SPOKEN OUT ABOUT IT until last year, this has gone unanswered. Intimidation and Fear Tactics, along the lines of what are being employeed to keep City and County employees from logging onto this site, have been used, but the head of the Republican Party last November was on the Ball, as were some other Chattooga County voters. That one single act of squeaky wheel bravery may be the undoing of the BLC Regime!

Boy that didn’t make sense did it? I was actually on the other page, but now that I’m here it does make you wonder about the prior elections. How long does the election board of the county have to maintain the absentee ballots? I’m sure the same thing happened then.
I remember hearing when I was an officer, YEARS ago, that the Floyd County Police had warrants on one of the big marijuana dealers in Chattooga, his name escapes me, but if someone says it, i’d remember it. I do remember he was supposed to have some underground rooms or bunkers or something like that where he stored his marijuana…..tons of marijuana…….anyway, the officers in Floyd headed to Chattooga to serve the warrant and were stopped by the sheriff, not kellett, I think the one before him (I’d know his name too if I heard it) at the county line and told to stay in their county that he would have the weed dealer turn himself in.
I can remember how it was a joke when people would say (and they often did), I got BLC as a lawyer, and then would look at you waiting for you to take the handcuffs off and beg forgiveness (yeah right)……when we’d point out that he hadn’t won a criminal case in Floyd county in years, they’d shut up. Guess they were used to chattooga county results.
Body bags are designed to prevent leakage of body fluids. They are heat sealed and will not detoriate under normal circumstances. Therefore I find it very hard to believe that any blood could have leaked out of the bag. I am curious to see what was determined to be the time of death and to know the actual time the body was discovered. That would also go along way in knowing if the blood trail was due to the body being moved.
I am also interested in the Medical Examiners determination as to the “suicide”. As per GA law O.C.G.A. 45-16-20 GA Death Investigation Act, the medical examiners office is required to investigate and do a thorough autopsy/investigation.

As with the Branch Connelly “suicide” there is no time of death established on the incident report, or other documents. The coronor did not receive the body until three days later, and there is no time of death recorded on that formal GBI report either, again, just as in the Branch Connelly case.
What’s more is that in the incident report, the officer writes that “Edith” (they got her name wrong), stated that her husband was depressed. She claims she never said that, and would never have said that because he was not depressed. The hand written report by Deputy Ken Woods states that Mrs. Puckett “noticed” that her husband’s hand gun was missing and noted that this was “very unusual” and yet quite to the contrary, Puckett carried his handgun for all of his walks, in case there were animals, or trouble makers out there, the kind who had been threatening them.
So, there are discrepancies, according to Mrs. Puckett, as to what she actually told the Deputy and what the formal report said.
But - no time of death.
Mr. Puckett left after the Braves game on July 9th, and it was late, according to Mrs. Puckett. She dosed off after he left.
Ms. Puckett awoke around 1:00 am on July 10th.
She searched for her husband for several hours, including driving next door to the Real Estate Agent’s home, but no one was home, or at least would not answer the door. She had called the next door neighbor as well, but no one answered the phone.
She called the Sheriff’s office sometime during the middle of the night
Luke Puckett’s body was found at 7:50am the next morning, (July 10) - but no TOD established.

Tw, I forgot to mention this earlier, but there was a gentleman by the name Richard Ayo, that was partying with a group of people in North Ridge Estates. Someone accused him of being a Narc, and the next thing you know he was being held down and injected with very strong Meth, they called it “raw”. They said that Rick went running out of the trailer into the woods. He was not heard from again. His poor mother for a week and a half begged the Sheriff to look for him and he didn’t. Finally after about two weeks, after so much pressure was placed on the sheriff, he brought in some dogs and after a small search, they found his body. I was there when they told his mother that they had found him, and it was so sad. All she could say was I begged him to look for him the night that he came up missing. Apparently he had called earlier looking for a ride back home, and by the time she got there, he had ran. It was said that he died from exposure but we all know better. The trailer that he was at was a known meth dealer, but To the best of my knowledge they didn’t even search it. Rumor control all said the same thing, he was injected because he had ratted on a subject that walked in.

RGS, I’ll toss you my badge, but I have one question: IF Branch Connelly’s death is suspicious then why is no one on “his” side of the family not demanding an investigation; like his parents or siblings? What troubled this poor man so that he felt this was his only way out? Did he have a lover, a terminal illness, financial problems? Did he leave a suicide note? If the answer to all of those is no, then there must be a dark story somewhere. Something so dark that this poor man felt he had no where to escape. The puzzle is all over the floor. Put it together. Even if some of the pieces have been taken the big picture should still come together. And then again—-sometimes you never know why something like this happens.

Out of respect for TW, we do need to refrain from carrying the dialog in this direction. It’s not up to Carlton whether or not he returns, It is the JQC responsibility to decide that. It is also the Geargia State Bar Assc,’s to disbar him, which I actually think they will do. I think that everyone will be surprised to know what’s about to happen.
Snake, pictures are very misleading. I figure that if they made one arrest it would be worth it. But in all actuality, there was I believe 12 arrest made that day. It is really hard to get search warrants on houses that are being protected. I think that a Superior Court Judge has to sign the warrants.
I hate to say I know a couple of the people arrested and believe me they are no “big drud dealers” more like welfare receipients too lazy to work…the have nothing, not even a car to drive…they didn’t arrest anyone of importance, just some little scum that wed be doing a favor to arrest so instead of DFACS keeping them up, the County Sheriffs Office can…it was in all actuality..BS

Branch was depressed because his judge wife was leaving him.
Upon questioning her I did not see where she told the investigating

In the GBI Interview, KCC does say that she had told Branch she was divorcing him, but that she only did that to scare him in to start taking his Blood Pressure Med’s.
So, are you saying that you are one of the Officers/Agents who interviewed/questioned her? If so, I would like to know why no Time of Death was estimated, and, why the phone calls made all during the night from BC’s phone were not tracked down. I would like to know why neighbors who have contacted me, and went and approached authoritie to talk to them about those last few hours of Branch’s life, were turned away. Why was only the Couple next door, who were actually from Florida, interviewed.
I would love to know why an full entourage of persons were already on scene, and traipsing in and out of the house before the first officer responding to the 911 call could get there. Any theories about all of that? Have you ever seen the full GBI Report? Would you like to sit with me and read it, and tell me your thoughts about what others noticed, because I have talked to no one who was actually at the scene, just law enforcement who are very suspicious about what should have been done, but was not.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Meeting that was mentioned earlier on the 3rd of December has to be canceled. I was getting e-mails about it, and there were a lot of people actually looking forward to it. But due to the fact that I was waned that there would be “Planted infiltrators” doing things like throwing rocks, and heckling. My conscience would not let me put the good people of the county in any danger. Maybe just a little more planning, and a secure place to meet, would be in order. Tell all of your friends to just flood this site, so we can tell how many in numbers we really have. You’re are at least protected on this site. I have checked all laws and ordinances, and we are in the clear, so all we have to do is organize a little better. You can also go to Georgia.gov and contact the Governor of this state.
DB, hard to plan something like a meeting when so many people are a little scared anyway. How do we know if everyone at that meeting is there with good intentions and not a spy? None of us wants to wind up on a list of “to get rid of if we prove too pesky” or start getting pulled over and having drugs planted in our cars… or dying in an unplanned suicide. The things it sounds like these people can do is rather limitless. Tragically, our problem is it appears much of the law is on the Dark Side.
Unfortunately, I do not know what we can do to bring this down. I’ve been in protests before, I’m not afraid to do a lot of things - I can be a fighter at need. We may need bigger attention than just this little county. A big national floodlight on Chattooga sounds pretty good to me (ok, even just a state, as suggested by contacting the Governor of the state).
TW, will you be going into more detail on Arch Farrar? I just cannot imagine this of the man, could it be he was not really involved other than being the closing attorney? Sounds like the guy that really took offense (and the offensive) was the fellow that felt Luke Puckett was on his property thanks to the defective land survey. THAT fellow is likely the one that had Kellet at his beck and call, is it not?

I mean think about it: they are with them long hours, they probably know more about that person than anyone; except of course maybe their wife. You have to remember who was at the crime scene when the 1st officer arrived: Kristina Cook Connelly, BLC, Ladon Lively (ex-investigator/private investigator), Rex Abernathy (attorney/ex-law enforcement officer), and officer BLC’s driver Michael Mack.
A red flag should have went up immediately when you pull up and see all of these people on hand.
How many people out there have ever shot a shot-gun? Do ya’ll think that it’s earthly possible, to hold a shot-gun that far down, shoot yourself in the head and it stays in one hand. The spasm’s from being shot in the head must be great. Strong enough to open any hand. One hand gets knocked over to his side, and the other maintains the gun. Every shot-gun I’ve ever fired kicked too hard I would think, to hold it with just one hand. And if 911 was called right after “he shot himself”, then how did all the “Posse” get there before any law-enforcement. Did they just walk in after he did it? Or were they really there all the time?
Good questions dirtyboy. And why would they need to be there? Unless to help coverup/cleanup the crime scene? It stills comes down to the time of death. Why was no time of death noted in either one of the cases? Most Medical Examiner’s try to determine an approxiamate time of death. Why not in these cases? Who was the ME of record to sign off on the investigation?
Listing a time of death would discredit the stories given and rule out suicide as cause of death wouldn’t you think?
dirtyboy, think you may have made a mistake cancelling the meeting just because some yahoos might throw things or heckle…….get a few master-at-arms to video tape the crowd as they arrive and then during the event. document the threats of disruption, even if they’re hearsay, and notify the sheriff in writing when you get the permit to assemble that you are expecting specific trouble and let him know what you know (I know he’s in on it, but you’re building your case.) Pedro..Ive thought all along that this is probably much larger than we can imagine…I think it could go up to state and federal levels. This is a problem that has been going on for decades and has been accepted as the “Norm”. If Gary McConnell got to the state level under Zell Miller, how did he manage to get noticed? He was a sheriff from a small back woods county in NW GA…Think about it.
I think theres a hornets nest here and its bigger than we are. I would suggest EVERYONE contact the Gov. office and demand an investigation.
I for one don’t trust a single attorney in this town….and would hire one if it wasn’t life threatening…and you bring in an outsider your waisting your money because your not going to win your case anyway, and from what Ive seen (and I have seen) the judges are in with the attorneys and do not want to hear from the people they are put into office to protect.

You guys and gals know that the number one thing that we are going to have to deal with is, the FEAR that people have of the BLC. what we need is a couple of good people that are very literate on this subject. Maybe an attorney or two. There ARE a couple of good attorneys around the county, whether any one wants to believe it or not. I have a feeling that these attorneys are just as sick and tired as we are. If you think about it, they have been wasting all of their time at law-school, because it’s not about the knowledge anymore, it’s about the money. It doesn’t matter how much time is spent on picking juries and how much the Prosecutors have to spend on the investigation of a case. Usually they know that there is going to be a guilty verdict before they even go to trial, and the Sentencing is also already decided. I do believe that it is OUR job to stop all this. I kinda doubt that the Governor can tell us how to protest, but I’m sure he would support one. When It comes to the media, they are on stand-by. I have already notified all of the Local stations of our desire to protest, and they are all willing to be there. Even all the way up to the NBC Today show have shown interest in this story. Everyone should also contact these T.V. stations and request the same thing. If any of you have a hard time finding those sites, post a response and I will post the addresses. The BLC is just like a drug-dealer. They can’t stand attention of this type. Again if there are any Attorneys out there who will step up to the plate and help direct us, please step forward. We all have to presume that the state WILL do something, and we need to be prepared to nominate people to take the places of people that will no longer be there. What we can do, is, instead of “protesting”, let’s all get together and discuss this in a civil matter. I don’t like “Selecting” on who can be there, everyone has a dog in this fight, so everyone has a right to be there.

I have to say as far as attorney’s go, since Ben Ballenger is vocal in these issues, he could be trusted, but I haven’t seen his “win” record, but I bet its low…and Im sure it doesn’t have a thing to do with his ability. overwhelmed, there is already a very large investigation ongoing as we speak, about the ballots. I have been told that they are about ready to present their finding’s to a grand jury. I’ve been told to have “patience”, that the results are coming. They have had the case for 46 day’s now. When I say “they” I mean that there has been three prosecutors assigned to the case. I don’t feel sorry for those who helped “pass the ballots” around. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. One of the “contacts” that people need to respond to is the Georgia Bar Assc., letting them know that all of these attorneys that are involved with this get disbarred. I do think that they will disbar Carlton, at least that’s what I’ve been assured. I know that there is alot of doubt surrounding all of this, but I promise you, if we keep digging, we can push these investigators into actually doing something.

G24…if asked…would the registra’s office mail or hand our large quanities of ballots to one address or to one person? (You seem very knowledgeable)…say a well known attorney or attorneys secretary walked in and asked for all these ballots…would they…or could they legally hand them out?

I know for a fact that the there were fellows with badges going around to the return addresses on those envelopes questioning the voters in person, so maybe DB is right that we have to be patient for the government to do their job on THIS investigation…but what about the rest of this scandal.

If that is the case, then the BLC cabal is perfoming some sort of serivce or services of an extremely unsavory sort to some powerful national/global operators, some people up at the level of Bubba Clinton and doing it on an ongoing basis, if not they would quickly loose their protection from above.
There has to be more to it than the local meth trade or the local real estate scams
+. What is likely is that they are rendering some high level services and because of this they are protected so that they are able to safely operate their local rackets.
Look for any global connections, especaially to China or the Republic of Panama, Mexico or any one of a hundred other offshore money pits. Maybe that knot of crooked lawers are somehow involved in illegal offshore funds transfers. Do they make lots of overseas trips? Do any of them own a yacht big enough to traverse the Caribbean? How about private airplanes?
What involvement do any of them have with the trucking industry?
They are doing something on an ongoing basis to “earn their keep” if they have that sort of protection. And most likely it is something that does not involve the local community in a big way. What you need to do is to figure out what it is and expose it.
Many years ago, back to the early 1980’s there was a small group of Dalton tycoons who were being rendered some of this sort of protection from on high for their vast cocaine trade, but this only lasted for a few years and then ended very abruptly, apparently they were told to “cease and desist” and they did, all at once and all together.
I always suspected that this had something to do with the Nicaraguan Contras.
Then later, there was a certain Calhoun trucker who was being protected to some degree by the Bubba Clinton cabal. He finally got a federal sentence anyway, but a few years later was sprung free, without really serving any real federal time after rendering a very valuable service to a person who was once a powerful national politician and who still had strong connections to the national party.
There is always a quid pro quo. It is your mission to unearth it. If you can your problem is solved.

I think that I shared last week, or perhaps the week before, the encounter I had with a Rome, Silk Stocking lawyer who was keenly interested in realtions with China, back in the nineties. He is now the Chairman of the Board for a bank here in town, and the Greater Rome Chambe rof Commerec if grooming “Official” relationships with China. That does not necessarily spell trouble, but it makes me very uncomfortable. I just do not know if it is that man’s law firm who is pushing for it, but I suspect it is.
I know what that man has done and been involved with in the past, and it causes me great distress.

If these people are being protected from on high they are likely being paid vast sums from the same source. But they are not very likely being paid here in this country, that is not the style anymore. All of this, like so much else, unfortunately, has “gone global”.
The accepted practice now is to make the payoff in an offshore “tax haven”. Around the world there are hundreds of these places but the favored country in this part of the world is the Republic of Panama, here you have a whole country with its whole banking and legal system purpose designed just for this trade. If done properly such a payoff there is totally safe.
And in Panama it is not just US based crooks banking there, the traffic is very “multi-national” with a vast amount of hot money from China changing hands there, Chinese to Chinese and also Chinese to foreigner.
Big deals of say a million or even less are done via armored car delivery. The payee moves his funds from his bank in a tranche of crisp US $100 bills across town in an armored car to the bank of the receving entity. That way there is no existing electronic record of the transfer, even in Panama.
The problem comes when the recepient decides to move some of his funds out of the country. Then there could be some danger of disclosuer but I suppose the idea is to let the money stay there in the Panamanian bank for a period of time and “age”. In the meantime their Panamaian banker can invest the funds in foreign (or US) stocks or maybe in local real estate.
Some of these people may have the idea to let the funds remain offshore and pass it along to their heirs. Or maybe they are working on way to move some or all of it back here or to some other more developed country. But there are uses it can be put to while there in Panama. They can obtain a credit card with the Panamanian bank or a third country bank and make purchases here in the US with relative safety.
And of course they can bring it into the country in cash stashed away in a private plane or in a yacht. Direct money transfers to here or to other developed nations are risky, though.

Excellent point. Belize is also one of those Banking havens, and is a top crossroads for swapping drugs, cash and weapons. Belize is one of the choices for middle east terrorists to get their weapons, and along with Panama, has fascilitated Middle East Terrorist detente with South American Drug Catels. It is where several folks from Floyd County launder/laundered money, including Mario Armas, but also some prominent folks as well. Mario owned land down there, and was going to “Develop it” into a vacation resort.
Belize is situated in between Guatemala, and Mexico, which makes it perfect for this sort of money laudering-drug and weapon swapping economy.

I like Belize very much, it is an interesting and unusual sort of place and all sorts of monkey business has gone on there for a long time. But the place is not a frontline offshore banking center and never really was. One problem is its British colonial heritage and though not a colony anymore it is party to all sorts of banking and legal conventions common to the rest of the British colonial and ex-colonial places.
Belize was more a destination for the really rough sort of expat type illegal activities. Belize City is one of the roughest places I have ever seen and back in the 1980’s during the peak of the cocaine mania it even much worse, or so I was told, just a total combat zone.
But they have cleaned the place up a great deal since those days. I guess some cocaine still offloads there but the main action for that has moved over to the Yucatan, so they don’t have to go through any customs inspections till they get the stuff to the US border.
Belize is not really a good place for recieving or maintaining ill gotten loot. The banking sector is just too small for one thing and of the couple of banks of any size, one of them is a leading Canadian bank and the other local owned bank, large questionable expat balances might attract unwanted attention and prompt an investigation. As far as I know, an anonymous “numbered” back account is not allowed in Belize. Also, as far as I know the legal practice of creating serial personal shell corporations, connected to one another in a “daisy chain” fashion is not allowed there either. And Belizean courts would not likely offer much opposition to outside investigators as their legal practice pretty much mirrors the rest of the British world.
Where Belize might be useful would be related to, well, the rougher or more “hands on” sort of skullduggery. You can easily make a “land trip” down to Belize or more likely you could tranship stuff in and out using a yacht.
But Belize has a fairly honest civil service and fairly tough border inspections. In Belize the “old money” are the black guys who were once British subjects. They are being overwhelmed by a flood of hispanics coming through the jungle from Guatemala, so they try to enforce the border to the maximum degree possible. It is not the “den of iniquity” it once was.
Where Belize figures in lots of schemes is that an American can go there and buy and own land, just like a local. That is not possible in most developing places, including Mexico. So if you wanted to park some hot money somewhere you could smuggle the cash into Belize and buy property with it.
Panama is another matter alltogether. To find another true “purpose built” money laundering center of that caliber you have to go to Asia.
For one thing, “offshore banking” is the nations main and #1 economic activity. You already have a flood of offshore money related to the canal and to the container ports. And you have a VERY LARGE and well established banking sector, with all the big transnationals there and plenty of local owned ones also. Offshore banking is literally “what they do there”.
And conveniently, somewhat like the Philippines, the legal practice in Panama is a sort of “mish-mash” of Code Napoleon and English law, but in Panama, this has been “fine tuned” to serve the nations main industry, offshore banking.
Panama is a signitory to a bunch of international conventions about money laundering, but they have adjusted their system to accomodate secretive banking by foreigners to the maximum degree. Let me explain:
There is an article in the Panamanian constitution that was placed there to protect questionable offshore deposits. This article requires that no legal accusation brought from abroad can rise above the level that potential illegality would rise to under Panamanian law. And very conveniently it just so happens that under Panamanian law most financial crimes are MISDEMEANORS. In Panama tax evasion is a misdemeanor. Many frauds are misdemeanors under Panamania law.
So, lets say that I am some guy with billions in illgotten gains stashed away in Panama. And the US internal revenue or FBI comes there with a request for disclosure on the ground of alleged tax evasion. First, of course, they have to present their allegation to a Panamanian court. But the offense for which they are pursuing me is in Panama a misdemeanor. So, the Panamanian courts treat the request like a traffic violation and maybe it takes a year for the court to act. In the meantime my bank and my lawyers have been notified by the court and so by the time the court acts, if it ever does, I can move the loot elsewhere.
Now if your alleged crime involves drugs or say child porno and the foreign entity has evidence of such, then that is another matter and you are not safe in Panama. But for financial crime, you are safe as a baby.
There are some other useful local innovations including the the Panamanian shell corporations. They have whole streets there in capital lined with law offices devoted to the practice of establishing foreign shell corporations. And commonly these dummy corporations are arranged in series (corporation A owns corpration B which is owned by corporation C which is owned by you, ect.) sometimes dozens of layers thick.
Another innovation is the numbered account which is available with all sorts of useful features everywhere for foreigners.
Once established, these surreptitious accounts can be used for a lifetime and even safely passed on to heirs. It is quite an arrangement.
The original offshore banking hub was Grand Cayman and to a lesser degree the Bahamas, mostly a result of the USA 1978 Banking Reform Act. But over time thier British heritage got in the way and now tourism is the main thing there. Later Aruba became important. But Panama, ever since we left the Canal Zone has been on the rise.

TW, I understand that the senior judge, Bo Woods appointed Jerry Westbrooks to the State Court Judge. Carlton goes to court on the 10th, is he actually going to stand in front of his own partner? WE CAN NOT LET THIS HAPPEN. That is just plain ridiculous, and the people of the county should NOT let this happen. Every one of us needs to contact the JQC, and demand and I mean DEMAND that this not be allowed. You know, they (Judges)are paid by us the Tax-payers, which means they work for us, but the sad thing is we can’t fire them. What a screwed up place! Never have lived there but did try to run a business there for a few years. What a mistake. That is probably THE most corrupt town in GA. (By the way, everywhere I went today up SUmmerville Way, people were sniggering about what a pathetic attempt the front page BLC Gazette article was at damage control. I think that ya’ll keep getting this confused with a HUGE 29 name indictment in the Hispanic Sur 13 case from summer/fall of 2005. There are still cases spinnig off of that, and still some trials to be had. BUt while it does touch Chattooga County, I would be surprised if there was another 29 man indictment coming.
However, I do know some good stuff is coming, but it will seem like an eternity before it gets here. BUt I tell you what, firing a gun to leave as an answering machine message, and then trying to plot and plan a pipebomb for reporters who print the truth, sure brought things to a head a whole lot faster. LUCY - you got some splaining to do!
So, for most folks, I would say that after December 20, we will know better what to expect.

On the utility company with the mercenaries that is pretty much standard operating proceedure in many developing countries. In those places often the government, due to lack of resources, does very little in the way of internal policing and security is something a business or even the individual person for that matter must arrange.
No bank or retail store would ever open for business without their security staff on duty, often guys armed with machine guns. Some of the rich employ their own “private army” and even in the barrio neighbors provide for each other the sort of policing and security we expect the government to provide, especially after dark.
Overall, the system works better than you might think. You have a minimal amount of government and little or no taxes for most people.
From the 1970’s whole bunches of US utility corporations have “gone global” and acquired operations in all sorts of places. The Southern Company is one that has done this.
So if they are operating in these places they would have to protect their facilites and their workers. I guess they would call this their “security force” rather than “mercenaries”.

And as any hoodlum would know, Mr. Ballenger filed suit in the Superior Court of Chattooga County. In Superior Court Case 2007CA31,894, Mr. Ballenger filed suit against Ms. Betty Lon, one of his former clients whom Mr. Ballenger sued (Say it ain’t so) over money. Good old In God We Trust Money. And as any hoodlum would know, Since Mr. Ballenger filed suit in the Superior Court of Chattooga County and since Judge Vines is the sitting Judge of the State Court of Chattooga County, Judge Vines has no conflict. The case isn’t Judge Vines to preside over. The case is not even in his court.
Thus, the only “circus” that I know of is the Barnum and Baily web page - and it appears to be a genuine three ring circus, replete with clowns and dog and pony shows. You in one ring, Mr. Ballenger in the center ring, and some other ringleader (appears to be different on any given day) in the third ring.
Either you are a deliberate and intentional liar, or your source is a deliberate and intentional liar, or you and your source are negligent liars.

It sounds to me that if a judge thinks that him standing over case can be viewed as a bias situation, he is not suppose to do it.

It makes perfect sense to me dirtyboy. But we have to remember this is Chattooga County. They have their own rules they play by and this has been the case for way to many years. In this county rules and laws don’t apply to some individuals. We all have to stick together and keep working together to correct the wrongs in this county. We also have to remember that it will not happen over night but take months and possibly years to correct everything.
Growing up, my granddaddy worked a 2 mule farm, they had hogs, barnyard chickens, a milk cow and raised most of the food they ate. This was my favorite place to go and “help” around the farm, at first I would gather eggs for granny or walk behind papa as he dropped corn in the rows, my job was to step on each grain of corn to pack it down. I always loved these “jobs”, as I grew older the job I hated the most was when papa would “cut” the pigs (castrate). My job was to hold the pig and he would cut those things out and then throw some kerosene on the cut and I would turn the pig loose. One thing that I noticed then was, as I held the pig by the hind legs, they would begin to squel and kick and soon all the pigs would be squeeling in anticipation of what was fixing to happen.
It seems as if this is begining to happen here in Chattooga County now, some are kicking and squeeling, some are squeeling, some are kicking and some don’t know what to do, because they probbaly never had any to cut any way.
p.s. I’ve never learned some of those big words I read here, never learned the Queens english, but I do know what it sounds like to hear a bunch of pigs squeeling. reddeck, steadfart and shadow seem to fit in this pen.

Conversely, violation of the Code diminishes public confidence in the judiciary and thereby does injury to the system of government under law. To me, that says it all.
Dear Tink - Excellent-Excellent. Integrity and Independence. The cartel up there does not know the definition of the word cartel, but they have no clue what the words integrity and independence mean, either. I have cases to produce to go along with a challenge Bobby Lee Cook threw down to Ben Ballenger in a deposition, which I will post soon…Ben made an allegation that BLC and his firm had stood in front of BLC’s daughter’s bench time and time again, and won of course, when that was such a conflict of interest - NO INDEPENDENCE there. He made that allegation in a LEGAL Confidential Affidavit, to show that Judge Cook-Connelly had broken the law.
Even when a baby died from Shaken Baby syndrome - the Crabtree case - do ya’ll remember? In front of Kristina Cook Connelly, the defendant was represented by BLC’s law firm. AND GUESS WHAT? You got it. Just like all of the meth and cocaine dealers - unless, of course, there is a rebel or rival dealer, and then, because they are competition, they will see some jail time. Now, if any drug dealer/supplier to the attorneys and judges of Chattooga County gets subpoened to testify at the Federal Grand Jury, oh let’s say out of the Northern District of Alabama, Birmingham, well, Bobby Lee calls over and tells that drug dealer to send his wife to the store, so they can talk. Then when the wife comes back, she finds her husband, (the drug dealer) sitiing in his chair, foaming at the mouth from stricknine, is that what it was? Dead. It’s not safe to live next door to Bobby Lee Cook.
As you can see by the posts Redneck/Shadow have made in the last few days, they do not care about child porn, child abuse, severe drug abuse, or even shaken baby syndrome deaths. What you call the judicial system in Chattooga County is a joke in the rest of the country. Even by Floyd County stanadrds, it is laughable. That is the point. YOur courts in Chattooga County DO NOT Follow the law as it is written in either Georgia COde or US Code, but ya’ll make it up as the need arises, and any attorney who wants to win up there has to pay homage to the King, and associate with one of his pet law firms, or suffer the consequences.

REDNECK - I was never found unfit to raise my children. The judge NEVER said that. He bullied and lied to my 12 year old son, and my son thought that judges and lawyers had to be honest, and just, and he took the judge at his word, in an ILLEGAL EXPARTE meeting. GET your facts right.

Judge Salmon talked to my twelve year old son, in an ILLEGAL exparte meeting at the office of my drug addicted, sex-addicted, diagnosed sociopath, (by Savannah and Atlanta Psychiatrists) ex-husband’s lawyer. My son was told by Larry Salmon that if he “Chose” in court the next day to go live with his father, that he, Judge Salmon, would not have to put me in jail for some things he knew about me, (NOTHING), and that he would make my son’s father buy me a new house and a new car, and pay me money every month.

You will see the documented evidence that my ex was so sick that he filed a false police report and beat himself up in the fact to cover for a cocaine binge during Easter weekend one time. That he was so sexually addicted that he had to be referred to Dr. Gene Abel in Atlanta for ammonia aversion treatments. He was supposed to continue ammonia aversion treatments for five years, but he quit after about eight week.
One time, when our son was three years old, he took him to Tybee Island, and left him alone, at the water’s edge. Later, he came back for my son, and took him to a hotel where he shot up with cocaine and heroine all day and night, and never fed our child. Our pastor finally found them, and had to dump the plentiful cocaine and porn. My son knew “Pastor Jack” and was so excited to see him, because he knew he would get food. My ex was slummed and passed out barely talking. My son bragged to the Pastor about having been a good boy, and not having gone in to swim in the water, while “Daddy went up to the gray house for a long time”.
So I did my research and fled to Rome.
But Judge Larry Salmon refused to read the doctors reports through eight years, and five filed cases. He did not care that Carlos Manero, my ex’s cocaine supplier, and convicted federal felon, (check the federal prisons and paroles website- he was sentenced the day before mandatory guidelines went in to place, thanks to my lawyer ex husband, and only served two years), came to my home and threatened me when I filed for divorce against my ex for the Tybee Island incident, which put my son’s life at such risk. Judge Larry Salmon did not care.
Judge Larry Salmon lifted the Chatham County Superior Court imposed mandatory monthly drug tests. He lifted the supervised visitation requirements for this sick and twisted man.
Judge Larry Salmon did not want to listen to the parents of classmates of my son’s, and church members who had known us for so long, who lined up in sequestered queue to testify about what a good parent I was. He just was too impatient to hear them testify.
You see, Redneck, there is a little more to the “Rest of the Story”. BUY a book and see what a sick SOB Larry Salmon sent my son to live with. Know that my son and I are very close now, always have been. All these years later, after he graduated from high school, he wanted to turn his back on his father, but I and my son-in-law encouraged him to forgive his father, and now, they actually have a decent relationship.

And, PS, Mr. RedNeck - just FYI, my daughter was grown, married and had children of her own when this happened. She filed a complaint against Larry Salmon and my ex’s atty, but to no avail. But she remembered how one time, when she was in trouble when she was about 13, and alone in the house, my ex went upstairs while she was showering, and pulled the curtain back, and watched her. When I came in the house and heard the commotion upstairs, I went up. His excuse? That if she was too immature to obey the rules of the house, the it meant she was still a child, and needed to be supervised while she was in the shower or the bath. That was shortly before he was diagnosed as a Primary Sexual addict, with the mainlining of the cocaine/heroine speedballs was secondary to the severity of the sexual addiction. That is who Larry Salmon ruled in favor of, through eight years of litigation. That is who Larry Salmon sent my son to live with, when he was a healthy, thriving, A-student who played first string Football & Basketball at his junior high, and also played in the band.

bullbutt, funniest thing I’ve read on here so far….and if you know BLC and can picture him, it’s even funnier. Might I add (I’ve posted this before), I was in court in Gordon County a few months ago when BLC was allowing his two clients to plea guilty to stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from Mohawk. Guess what? Probation. The funny thing was the other defendants in court waiting for their probation revocations………..poor white and black boys mostly…..their jaws hit the floor when the judge agreed to probation…..you know most of those guys are on probation for $20 of drugs or stealing playstations. Justice, bought and paid for.
one other thing (hate to double post)……if you know of any of these sweet deals that judges give BLC’s clients simply because they are awed by BLC………..and you know your account is accurate, post it………..point it out enough and these judges (outside of chattooga county) will start thinking twice about these sweet plea deals if they know that they are going to have to justify them.

On the way. I am having to redo my story board, but you know I run my features in three day increments, on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday cycle. I originally thought I had a 12 week story board for the Dixie Mafia, but it looks now like it may take 16 weeks. I am pushing next week’s story, forward, and will lay out several “Sweet Deals” for the public, like the shaken baby death. So, look Monday-Wed-Friday of next week for a couple.
I am beginning to hear from folks and their attorneys from up in Chattanooga about some of these cases, as well, Criminal and Civil, down here in Chattoga and Walker, etc - Lookout Mountain Judcial Circuit in General. When I hear from Tennesse folks, I am so embarrassed that we Georgians have let this go on for so long. Of course, Chattannooga has embraced one of the fallouts from one of my cases. Bob Saylors, the former Executive Director of the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority, had to “retire”, (It was a forced resignation with a one year package deal), when my year long investigation kept revealing fraud and mismanaged funds, and extortion of a railroad company. But he was hired since Mario ARmas’ indictment in October of 2006, by the Chattannoga Parks and Rec Authority, or what ever the equivalent is.
Good old Bob funneled money from our county for years, through projects under his control, (grants, consessions, all sorts of stuff), in to outside non-profits under his control, (what he didn’t outright pocket, he and his buddies). When he and some of his cronies were forced to resign, he went to work openly for Mario Armas, (see archives - Feature Stories), whom he had been dealing with under the table for years. NOW, the citizens of Chattanooga have him. Ya’ll can go back in to my archives, and read all about Uncle BOb, in the Mario Armas Periphery stories.
Another one who was committing felonies was former Floyd County Comptroller, Al Leonard, who was also forced to resign after I discovered the public document trail. But he “resigned” to take a “Better job” down in Key West. Three months later, he was sitting as Gordon County’s Comptroller, a position arranged by those in Floyd County who needed to keep him quiet - ya’ll had better watch that one with the non-profits, too.
But, I digress.
All of that to say that cases are coming from victims all over northwest Georgia, Northeast Alabama and even Southern Tennessee.

You see, in my many suits betwen my ex and myself, whose name I obscure in the book to protect he and my children, his attorney always threatened me with exposing something horrible about me…something illegal etc..It got my attorney in a tizzy the first time we were in court together, because he was frantically asking what it could be, did I not want to take the settlement…I was calm, I was sure…there was nothing. (There still is nothing).
My attorney never doubted me again. However, it was the same scare tactic that Judge Larry Salmon used against my 12 year old…There is something horrible I know about your mother…something illegal she has done….SO, I say, you have been a victim, like my son was when he was 12. There is nothing, and if you have ANY Testicles, you will bring the allegation, and I have no problem defending myself.
I will tell you that many rumors circulated about me after my son went to live with his father. The atty who had represented him spread lies about me. I heard back from friends and associates at my church, that I was used to be a stripper, (NO), that I used drug, (No), that I had extramarital sex, (NO), that I engaged in group sex, (NO). When I tracked back the source of all of this to his Rome Attorney, I realized that the attorney for my ex had planted all of that specualtion about me, because he could not defend himself against what he had done and participated in with taking my son away.
BUT ANYONE WHO WANTS TO come forward with any allegation, and can back it up with prooof, come on. Come on. I have nothing to hide.

BUt the personnel at Martin Army realized what was going on. The other Teresa (Same Middle Name) Watson ’s father was an enlisted man’s daughter, and they were able to separate the medical records by our fathers’ ID Numbers, and rank, cause rank shows up on everything, in the army,(Although I guarantee you, the moms could have done it faster.
So, your PI had better check his records, sir. What morons.

As far as TW’s case in Floyd County Court, I don’t know the specifics and don’t care to, but I will say that I would not be shocked if an Attorney (her ex husband) won a case that he shouldn’t have won, simply because he is an attorney. You want to feel the wrath of God come down on you? The next time you are picked for jury duty and you go in front of the judge, make a lawyer joke………You want to see a group of people who protect each other MUCH more than dirty cops? Check the Bar Association. They seem at odds when you watch TV shows, but go to a court room and watch, you’ll see they’re all in cahoots……..anyone involved in the legal system knows this.
My point? Maybe she deserved to lose, maybe she didn’t….but just assuming that the judge got it right, when one of the parties is an attorney is very naive.

Chattooga county is a dirty place to live I was born and raised there and was shot there, no justice…. took them 4 or more months to catch my shooter, I feel sad for the pucketts…..I went to school with some of the jerks mentioned in the puckett story. wonder why BLC son in laws death was first said to be suicide then murder , then back to suicide, guess money talks…………

I do not think that I followed any more than everyone else. I believe that when the spouse of someone ends up missing, or deceased under curious circumstances, that the chances are pretty good that the remaining spouse had something to do with it. Crime statistics prove that out. When you add in to the mix that the remaining spouse is in law enforcement, I imagine the stats go up even more sharply. THEN, when you add to that how corrupt Northwest Georgia is, and the fact that the missing wife of a law enforcement officer, was herself in a para profession related to law enforcement, (she was a 911 operator), well, I think that I sure would like to be an active participant in that investigation.
Now, from what I understand, a close friend of the remaining, law enforcement spouse was involved in covering up some sort of evidence, or in covering up for the remaining spouse….It is too coincidental.
HOWEVER, because this is in the Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force area, and the Lookout Judicial Circuit, I would think there is a possibility that her disappearance had something to do with something she overheard, or a call she took as an opertaor, and had nothing to do with the spouse. Not likely that it was only that, but possible, and I would want to have at least two different teams trying to prove/disapprove both theories, if I were serious about investigating this case.
But, I am not a trained detective, or law enforcement individual.
I tell you this. I would be getting every old surveying map of counties in that area, and looking for every pond, well and mining shaft in which a body could be dumped.
That is what I think about that case.

I have NO IDEA what the law is on that. And what the law says is not what necessarily is applied in Chattooga County. Jerry Westbrook or Kristina Cook Connelly, what difference is there?
But the December 10 date is simply an arraignment, to face the cahrges and enter a plea. As I am told, the defendant can choose not to appear, and can just enter a plea via his/her attorney. Who is the attorney? Will it be Bobby Lee Cook? Albert Palmour? John Dennis? Rex Abernathy? Who will it be?

I noticed that REDDICK said that the “prisons were all full but they were all innocent”. Under the eyes of God and not the eyes of the judges here, I would truly believe that the percentage of innocent people in prison would be greater than the percentage of innocent lawyers and judges in the state of Georgia.
I can relate to red and shadow from a like kind problem I had many years ago when I was about 12 or 13 years old. A bunch of us boys were made to sit on a front and center pew at church because we had been a little noisy the sunday before in our normal back row pew. I had a little “gas” problem, so right in the middle of the sermon, I decided “slip” a little one out. It was loud, the preacher stopped preaching for a few seconds, people began to giggle and all of the boys started looking around and pointing fingers at other people nearby, so not to look guilty I started looking and pointing just like them. I believe thats what red and shadow are doing, but I would think the “stink” is still all over them.

He’s a downright good guy, and above all is honest. i believe you two had a misunderstanding or something, happens all the time…….everyone in their life has been convinced that someone lied, just to find out that they’re mistaken. Just because Sally Mae Tells you that JD said something, doesn’t mean 1) that she’s telling the truth..2) that she’s not just exaggerating or 3) that she’s not just plain mistaken.

It was not a miscommunication, not at least the second go around, (Professional woman who forwarded the seven e-mails). The first time, with the NEWSMAN, not newgirl, not newsboy, not newswoman, but newsman, I tried the first time to chalk it up to evrything like Miscommunication, etc….
BUT, the e-mails from the potential advertisers were not miscommunications. What is odd, is, that she contacted me about it, without immediately telling me who it was. I was shocked, and contacted Major Tommy Shiflett, first, to see what I should do, to see if a law had been broken. He told me that there was nothing that I could do, unless moneys had excahnged hands. They had not been.
I actually e-mailed JD and told him to be careful, that someone was out there fraudulently representing themselves as my sales rep, and that he would probably be targeted as well, since we were both small, single opertators, and therefore vulnerable. He did not respond for days. THEN, I was at the Neighborhood Sponsored Candidate Forum, and I kept catching him looking at me, and when I would smile and wave, he looked so sheepish. I went home that night and told my husband how weird it was, and I wondered what was up.
BUT I still did not know who was posing as mu sales perosn. That was Tuesday evening. On Thursday, I opened all of the e-amils which the business woman forwarded to me. I was so angry and so hurt. I had forgiven him before. I had defended him to RNT reporters. (I still do). And then this.
And when I got the info today that he had put something up about me, and I went to look at his website, which I just do not go to anymore, I was shocked that there was a whole BLOG Thread about my website, criticizing me and my readers and those who post here. I never found anything on there about the Florida accusations one of my readers said he read on there, BUT, then again, that reader has not posted again since then, either.
So I am guessing that either my reader was lying, or JD must have taken it down.
By the way, I sure would appreciate someone telling me what it was, if anyone saw it.
And I have decided that if JD wants a blog running about me, that is fine. Better for me. But when I see “Administrator” making derogatory comments about me, (I printed those off this afternoon), that really bothers me. That we had a professional relationship, that I worked my butt off for him, and invested money to work for him, and he never paid me, and still he thinks it is alright to do this. I do not know.

Well, you see, I think that at first, he saw me as a nobody, and it is easy enough to screw over nobodys, if you are the type who will screw ANYBODY over.
But if you knew WHO the newsperson involved on the other side of the equation, you would trust him. You would. He would NOT fabricate information, nor would he edit an e-mail. There are just some things you know.
Also, as far as ROmeNewsTribune writers who do not/did not like him, I know them, because they have complained to me about JD before, and I have defended Jerry Duke even since his betrayal, because those who complained were jealous. The guys who did not like him are young bucks, and are actually good reporters in their own right, but territorial and jealous and not used to the competition. Jerry carved out a nitch for himself, and they have had a hard time keeping up. So I would have taken their accusations with a grain of salt.
BUT it was NOT one of the young bucks. It was a seasoned and highly respected journalist. Someone who had the authority to complain. Someone who had the authority to contact their corporate attorney.
Then, there are the e-mails from the professional woman, who was looking to advertise on my site. In fact, I have her logo copy, now, and it will post soon. She had absolutely NO dog in the fight, and would have no reason to doctor their back-and-forth communication.
So, I do not know what to say to convince you, cause I am not going to reveal who the news person is.

well it’s not that I insist that you’re a liar (like some on here) or that your sources are liars…but could it be possible that there is a misunderstanding? I’ve heard of you for a couple of years, I doubt that JD wouldn’t realize he was grasping on to the dragon’s tail if he were to tell a lie about you or try to steal from you. Your professional woman is not necessarily a liar, but could she have misheard, misinterpreted or misre-collected what JD said? If you insist “no” then that’s illogical…….anyone can make a mistake……anyone. I’ve noticed that there is, in fact, a forum about your site on RNW, but there is no implication that you are an idiot by RNW,,,,,in fact, other than one forum that talks about the people who POST on your site….the other sites were started by forum members, not by JD.
Just because someone is ill-informed, naive or even skeptical to say “OMG, I can’t believe she just said that about BLC” doesn’t necessarily make them a BLC puppet……….it could just be that they think of him as Matlock and can’t believe that you have the gall to challenge him or say something bad about him.

As to Luke - in the process of telling him to move his travel trailer, did anyone advise him that the survey was incorrect and that he was indeed on someone elses land? If this fact was known by the Van Pelts and law enforcement, it should have been given to him. As the legal owners of the land the Van Pelts had a right to ask him to move and he should have honored their request. I do not know many of the persons involved in this but have always felt an individual should go the extra step to keep peace with their neighbors. A person would have to know what others at the time, knew and didn’t know to honestly make a decision.
As for the semi-automatic firearm - semi-automatic pistols are known to be easy to fire - some say the trigger is so easily pulled that if you breathe on them they’ll fire. The damage to Luke’s hand must have been extensive for him to have trouble firing this pistol. I know that I would not consider going out after dark and walking our property with or without a firearm. I am a fairly good shot but night shooting is a whole new ball game. I can only conclude Luke must have felt safe doing it. There are just so many questions concerning this situation. If he was receiving threats why did he continue walking after dark - expecially when one person said they’d been sniper trained. If he needed 2 hands to fire his gun why didn’t he get one of those lights that straps onto the head so both hands would be available? Despite the errors made by individuals who put this real estate transaction together,(and it sounds like they made major errors) this whole thing sounds like everyone thought they were right and no one was willing to give an inch. This is not the world our grandfathers grew up in - there is crime in every corner of our country. It is hard to find law enforcement that hasn’t been penetrated by crime in some way or another. Knowing this, each of us needs to do our best to keep ourselves safe. Stupidity and stuberness are not excuses but can often lead to a very bad ending, as it did in this case. Has anyone thought about living their lives according to the Ten Commandments?
Perhaps reviewing the Beattitudes would remind us how to conduct ourselves. Everyone is not always right all the time and patience with others, especially during a dispute, is worth its’ weight in gold.

Good questions. Luke did show the Van Pelt heirs his survey and deed, many times over the course of the year. He also offered, as i wrote, to simply give up the land, (it was primarily where the camper was sitting which was in dispute). BUt he had run electricty and all, and wanted to finsih building the house, first. That seems generous and reasonable to me.
But, they were not satisfied, and Luke encouraged them to sue, because he knew that way he could recoup that loss from the Title Insurance, and so, he was anticipating the suit, with relief.
As for the arrogance of men…I am married to one fo those who thinks he is invincible. MEN!!!!!!!!
However, I do not believe that it was a Van Pelt heir who did this. They had everything to gain by waiting for the deed to be “quieted”, legally. They were, after all, right. The survey was in GROSS error.
BUT who would stand to lose the most by having the suit filed? Not the Puckett’s and not the Van Pelt heirs. That woud be Arch Farrar and Carl Morrison.

There’s all kinds of people reading this site. I even heard someone in church mention it. They might not be writing but they are reading. Good guys and bad. If you read it, they have read it. It’s really too late to remove it, but you can rest assured that they are people out there that care about TW and her Family. That are willing to make sure that the “truth” is told. Taking care of their own. Everybody has a cause, everybody has a reason. My cause is all of the above. I’m also a firm believer that you reap what you sow. If they bring trouble, you must be prepared to give it back.
I agree dirtyboy. You definitely reap what you sow. I want to see justice served above all else. I think our county is long overdo for a major overhaul. We need good honest people in office and people that are willing to uphold the law above all else.

Welcome to the website. I have been gone all day covering several states picking up files and interviewing folks, so sorry for this late response. Thank you for taking the time to write. Well said on several points. But when even law enforcement at the state and federal level are frustrated with the abysmal investigations in a small, defined, geographic area, all falling under the same judicial circuit, especially when election fraud is rampant, then we need to take note. My sources, including files and reports, come from GBI files, federal files, court records and public documents, and exhaustive interviews. For instance, I had to travel up to Tennessee and over to Alabama for interviews, which is where I have been all today, just for one story. Interviews, files, transcripts….and all of that time only leads to hours of reading and re-reading until I understand a story, and then follow up with more interviews to be sure I have the details down. Then, the hours crafting the story begin.
That is what goes in to my stories.
I cannot say the same for what is posted as “Comments” to my stories.
BUt the Connelly story is pretty solid. I know that causes pain, but in the end, don’t you think that the family would like to have the real truth?

That you can be a child that was left something and then as you grow up in abuse they all abuse and lie to you about what should have been yours. you marry and man that abuses you because you know nothing else. he splits on you because he just wanted money that was yours that you didn’t know about but everyone else did. I finally move away from that area and find out truth. now the courts say that the very crooks whom ripped off a child, killed the people she loved, and surrounded her her entire life just to keep her in the dark about property that she should have had, are all right. that they can get away with abussing a child and be absolutely guilty of having property or money and having had it and sold it that they were not entitled too. that they knew this. and that their goal was to amke sure i died so that they could purfect their crime. but because I didn’t know, I am not entitled to anything. that the statue of limitations has ran. that huge crooks who abuse get rewarded for their coruption. that they can try to kill you even and get away with it. that something that was never theirs and they stole from a child can be their with enough clever planning and ciuption in mind
