While We Were SLeeping…
Okay, so we were not really sleeping, but in a prominent Democrat’s attempt to suppress Free Speech and Freedom of the Press, we were temporarily removed from the internet because Summerville Georgia attorney and prominent face of both the Democratic Party in Northwest Georgia, as well as organized crime in Northwest Georgia, Bobby Lee Cook.
His letter to the secondary portal host for our primary web host, scared the cowardly United Kingdom based company 1and1.com into removing a conservative independent news website from the world wide web, just upon the threat of litigation. Even after more than two hundred years, the Red Coats still do not get the principal of Free Speech, and neither do certain segments of the Democratic Party.
Luckily, contacts in both the State Department and the USDOJ had some suggestions and solutions, and this website and its domain is in safe hands, off shore. It is a shame that the daughter of a highly decorated thirty year US Army vet like my father, (and other heroes like him, who have spent their lives and soiled their blood in service to protect Free Speech and Freedom of the Press), would have to seek refuge in an off-shore internet company to be restored to printing the truth.
But while we were lost in limbo for those couple of weeks, some major changes took place in the Floyd County Republican Party.
My dear friend and neighbor, (and occasional body guard), Mike Morton was elected Chairman of the Floyd County Republican Party. I have rarely known a harder worker in anyone’s cause as Mike Morton, and while I left the Republican Party years ago, as an Independent, who supports candidates of both parties, and GOOD idea from both parties, I am pleased to see Morton rise to the top here locally.
One would be hard pressed to find a more honorable man, or one with such a GREAT sense of humor.

Friends:
I am both proud and appreciative to you for selecting me as your Party Chairman. I hope to and plan to live up to your expectations and to those of you that encouraged me to run.
Let me take a moment to share with you some thoughts that I have, maybe a vision that I have, for us for the Floyd County Republican Party.
After returning to Rome, coming back “home” in 2001 after some forty years away chasing that corporate dream and moving my family some 22 times and then retiring in 2004, I had the opportunity and the encouragement to do “those things I had always wanted to do”. Since 1962 when I read Barry Goldwater’s Conscience of a Conservative and became a committed conservative, and since 1968 when I promised I would never vote for a democrat and would always vote “straight ticket” Republican (I admit I fell off the wagon in ’92 when I voted for Ross Perot…something my dear wife Dixie never let me forget), I have always wanted to be an active and activist member of the Republican Party. I have believed in the Republican Party and its principles, but I never had the time, or took the time, to become an active part of the GOP.
Two years ago, however, I joined the Floyd County Republican Party. At our April 2007 breakfast meeting when I joined, I asked the question, really made a statement, of Sue Everhart, “Why has my Grand Old Party moved away from me”. I believed and pointed out to Sue that the Party that I loved, the Party of conservative principles, the Party of Barry Goldwater, the Party of William Buckley, the Party of the “Great One’, Ronaldus Maximus, Ronald Reagan, the Party of Newt Gingrich and the “Contract With America” was in spiritual and morale decline, had lost its way and its compass was no longer pointing True North.
Our leaders were no longer leading, seemed to be more interested in consolidating power, than in taking on tough issues and fighting to deal with those tough issues relying on the foundation of our conservative values. But when I made that statement to Sue, asked that question, I realized that while I was pointing that finger at the GOP leadership, I had three fingers pointing back at me…and the GOP…conservative, faithful. I realized that I must be, not part of the problem, but part of the solution.
So, I joined the Party and tried to do everything I could …no matter what it was. I did a lot of “heavy lifting”…stacking chairs, organizing watch parties, putting out yard signs, including 449 for Saxby during his run-off campaign, driving to Atlanta to pick up signs and materials, manning the GOP headquarters last fall, whatever needed doing I tried to do it. Now I will say, that was not without rewards….certainly I was rewarded with the opportunity to meet, talk to, have my picture taken with the not very secret new love of my life…. Sarah Palin. If that were all I ever received, that would have made my life complete.
As I did the “heavy lifting” it became clear to me that I needed to take another step and become part of the GOP leadership team. It was clear that I needed to step up a notch, to “lead, follow, or get out of the way”. I decided that I wanted the job of Chairman, I decided that I wanted to lead our local Party, I decided that I wanted to bring you, our team, together and to unite us under the banner of “leadership” and under the banner of “victory” in our war to protect and expand the principles, and values of this Party, those that our Founding Fathers pledged their “lives, their fortunes, and our sacred honor” to, those that over 700,000 men and women have fought for and died for in their service to this great country.
You probably want to know where I stand ideologically…well, that can be easily summed up by saying three things…..I love my country, the three most important things to me are my God, my country, my family….I no longer like my government…..I hope, and pray that President Obama fails, fails in his attempt to implement the catastrophic policies of socialism, of the attacks on our moral and social fabric, and in his efforts to “fundamentally change the foundations” of the greatest nation in the history of the world.
I am asking for your help, I am asking that we work together, as a Party, as a team, to restore, solidify, return our Party, our local, our state, our national leadership to the values we hold so dear….to the principles of free enterprise, capitalism,, to the principles of freedom and liberty, to the principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness…. I am asking that you help me in sending a message to our GOP leadership, indeed to ourselves to “lead, follow, or get out of the way.
I ask that you work with me, that as a team we reach out and :
grow this Party
expand our tent
diversify
reach out to the youth, the African-American, the Hispanic, to the complacent, to the confused.
I ask that you work with me to make this Party a principled and issues directed Party.
Define, inform, publicize, and promote…reach out - to bring our principles to the community.
I ask that you work with me to support our candidates both as they run and campaign and also as they serve their terms. I ask that as a team we find ways to raise funds for them, to campaign for them, to phone bank for them, to walk for them, to rally for them, to praise them…to support them, to be loyal to them.
I ask that you help us to raise funds and expand membership…to reach out to the community and find “Joe the plumber, Wanda the waitress, Bob the banker, Charles the community activist, Louis the landscaper, Terry the teenager, Chase the college student, to find, engage and bring into this Party the African-American, the Hispanic, …all classes of CITIZENS of this nation, all Americans of this county. I ask that you do this through many forms of membership and fund raising drives, hotdog suppers, Reagan Day dinners, walks for life, chili-cook offs, river paddles, Memorial Day parades, and on and on.
I ask that you bring new ideas, or even old ideas to our Party…I ask that you, we care, and return this Party to the Party of Reagan, of Goldwater, to the Party of Gingrich.
I ask that you join me in making this Party a model for the state and the nation, that we establish, together, what our mission is, and what our strategy is to establish a template of leadership….for our nation.
And I thank you for giving me this opportunity.

We need the best ideas to show us the way.
For people to be open to the best ideas.
For example a lot of people in CC are use
to getting their sons off when they get in trouble.
One wants to go to BLC and get the law to lighten
up on my son because I love my son or I love my
family member. Or I was born and grew up with
the people in CC. Could anyone imagine someone
moving to Atlanta and being told you were not
born and raised here.
I am up for a tea party myself! I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. The national news makes my blood boil. I find myself cursing the TV. Isn’t that ridiculous? Every last thing I do is taxed above what my income is taxed. A rocket scientist couldn’t figure out where the taxes go or even what they are. Taxes upon taxes with fees upon fees. If we don’t take back our government and our courts, we will be ripe for the picking by the Middle East or the Drug Cartels to the South. Add to that the Chinese government that already owns more of this country than we do.

You express the frustration and the outrage of millions of Americans. I have talked to so many Republicans and Democrats who are furious. This latest round of Bureaucratic nonsense has people from all party affiliations up in arms. It is not longer a Dems v GOP, but it is the average voter verses Washington.
BOTH parties are to be faulted with the mess we are in, and this latest abomination from Congress and the Whitehouse is the last straw. It makes no never mind that it was a Democratic President ushering this in. President Bush ushered in run-away spending and unaccounted for waste long ago.
Just look at the millions of dollars worth of pre-fabbed homes we purchased for Katrina victims, ina HURRY, without thinking it through, which stand empty and rotting because basic safety measure were not followed in production, AND WHO WAS EVER PROSECUTED for that boondoggle?
The definitions of accountability and responsibility are not comprehended inside the beltway.
It is time for a REFORMATION, and perhaps for a DIVORCE from Washington before our cities, towns and country look like something out of ‘Blade Runner’.

No Teresa, I am not omniscient. But judging by JH’s posts, the only people he should be concerned about are the men who would be coming to take him away. His paranoia rivals only yours.
As far as the gunshots you heard over your answering machine go, how could you tell that they were from a semi-auto? Are you a ballistics expert, trained in the timber and attack of handguns? Perhaps they were from a standard revolver, fired in succession. Just my opinon (as John would say.)

Just a local resident who has lived in the area all her life and is distressed that someone would libel people she has known all her life. The gun shots were determined by Rome Police Department Detectives to be semi-automatic. I am assuming since they are P.O.S.T certified, then they would know.
As for leaving the Cook family alone - fat chance. they have terrorized Northwest Georgia for so long, and HONEST law enforcement at local, state and federal levels have worked the cases for decades, just like any organized crime family in the Northwest of Chicago is worked. It tales decades to make a case on the godfathers and their families, because assisted suicides or outright murders occur to the underlings who carry out orders from the top. With the Dixie Mafia, the problems are compounded, because so many members are also attorneys and judges.
All you have to do is actually read the articles here, and look at the plethora of PUBLIC documents to see the proof. It is there for anyone willing to remove their rose colored glasses, and who can stay off the Kool-aid long enough.
But transcripts recorded by a court reporter, where the Princess judge threatens agents with the federal government and state government and local government, when she attacks with name calling Special Prosecutors, when a death threat phone call can be traced back to an attorney working for the cartel…then no one, not even a blind supporter like you, can deny something is wrong with the Cook Family-run cartel.

Well you know I have to put my 2 cents worth in on this one. He has a long hard road ahead of him. The corrupted, power hungry and greedy Dems and Reps aren’t going to step to the side for anyone. I particularly don’t care for the insinuation that President Obama is more likely to send us in a Socialist direction than the last President. The Constitution of this country has been bastardized by our elected officials. I have zero confidence in either party. My country is a thing of the past. I see no hope of it being restored to what it once was. The inmates are truly in charge of the asylum. The American voters are sheep being led around by a pack of wolves. 90% of the wolves should be tried for treason. If they weren’t so dangerous and deadly they would be a joke. They are not Americans.

I agree with most of what you said.
The country my father committed 30 years to, and was seriously wounded several times for, is a thing of the past. I do know that Mike Morton is checking into organizing a Tea Part on April 15th when many will be held all over the country. The Federal government should be raising taxes to support a standing army to protect us through crime prevention and intelligence, build roads for commerce and provide for our safety.
Our State Government should provide for law enforcement, courts, safety, education, and let each state decide what type of education is best for their population.
Even under Bush, the government continued the ridiculous detour of becoming everyone’s answer to all problems, and now, even Poor management of banks and investment firms by MBA’s who have no business sense or common sense, and only expensive Ivey League theoretical training.
What a waste of education resources.
Now, the lawyers, (another waste of education resources), will swoop in a in bilk the Tax payer for even more in fighting how the monies will be spent. In the last election, the only candidates the DEM’s could offer were lawyers. Tell you anything?

What has this country come to? It is time for MORE than a Tea Party. It is time for the “R” word. It is time the government stops taking all of its working citizen’s hard earned money, and stop spaying for the extreme ends of society - 1) those who would not work and sit idly by to take from those in the middle who do work, and 2) those who are extremely wealthy and sit and only move money around, stealing form those in the middle who have worked to earn their money.
It’s time for term limit’s at all levels of government, ESEPCIALLY congressional and Senate seats, and Judicial Seats as well.
WE NEED REVOLUTIONARY REFORM - WE NEED BACK TO BASICS REFORM.
